Anastasia Komarenko

Ukraine Child #42039 – $29 per month

Anastasia lives with her mother Yevgenia and younger sister Valeria in a small town Ivankiv, a place which is sadly known as Chernobyl area after Chernobyl accident of 1986. Girls’ father is a volunteer in war in Eastern Ukraine since March 2015. Mother Yugenia takes care of the girls. She works as a shop assistant in the store, and her salary is not enough to cover all family expenses. Grandfather and grandmother also try to help the family but they cannot do a lot with their pension.

Nastya (short for Anastasia) is very nice girl, she is a good student at school, likes computer and English language. She also likes to play checkers. Her grandfather taught her to play checkers. He is a volunteer in Ivankiv Christian Center where he teaches children to play checkers and chess. Nastya also goes to the Center. She likes all the classes – Bible lessons, computers and English.

Mercy Projects conducts a Child Sponsorship project in Ukraine to keep children at home with their mother or family members. Our goal is to keep children out of orphanages and home with family. Child Sponsorship supports the entire family and is the first step to bringing hope and health to these needy children.

Anastasia and her younger sister Valeria are very close. They said, “We want to pray for our father, that he would come home safe and healthy. He is a real patriot of our country! We love and miss him!”

Please, pray for the girls and their mother, for their health, and peace in Ukraine. Sponsorship of Anastasia would be an encouragement and a blessing to this family.
