Ukraine Child #42037 – $29 per month
Emilia lives with her mother Tetyana and older sister Karyna in a small town Ivankiv, a place which is sadly known as Chernobyl area, after Chernobyl accident of 1986. Emilia’s father has been a volunteer in war in Eastern Ukraine. He has been wounded there in 2015 and spent some time at the hospital, but unfortunately when he came back from war he and his wife got divorced… And now Emilia’s mother takes care of two girls by herself. She works as a packer at the drug store, she is doing her best at work and home, but salary is not enough to cover all family expenses. The house, where the family lives, belongs to their grandmother. She moved to the village and left it to Tetyana and the girls.
Emilia is a sweet little girl. She is a good student at school, very smart, likes mathematics, reading and English language. Emilia goes to Ivankiv Christian Center, where she has many friends and where she likes all the classes – Bible lessons, computers and English. “Emilia is my miracle,” says her mother Tetyana. “She is very creative: she likes drawing, dancing and listening to music.”
Mercy Projects conducts a Child Sponsorship project in Ukraine to keep children at home with their mother or family members. Our goal is to keep children out of orphanages and home with family. Child Sponsorship supports the entire family and is the first step to bringing hope and health to these needy children.
Karyna, Emilia’s older sister, is graduating from school this year. She is a sweet girl but often gets sick. The girls are very good friends and they spend a lot of time together.
Please, pray for the girls and their mother, for their health, and peace in Ukraine. Sponsorship of Emilia would be an encouragement and a blessing to this family.
