Filipp Kuzmenko

Ukraine Child #42031 – $29 per month

There are six people in the family: grandmother, mother, and four children. They live in Kyiv, in three-room apartment. Family situation of these six people is very difficult. Grandmother Ekaterina is very sick (she had two strokes after death of her older daughter). She is constantly crying and can barely walk because of trophic ulcer.

Mother Svetlana is raising three children. Danil is 16 years old and he studies in college. Filip is four years old and Margarita will be two in spring. There is no father in the family. Mother Svetlana has been married three times and none of her former husbands help her – they don’t want to know about their children.

The oldest son Olexandr, who is 23 now, started to work right after school. He wanted to help the family and works as a builder, but his work is seasonal and he is looking for some better job.

Filip and Margarita stay with mother at home. Filip is a very smart, cheerfu,l and active child. Margarita is a cute little girl, full of energy and curiosity.

Mercy Projects conducts a Child Sponsorship project in Ukraine to keep children at home with their mother or family members. Our goal is to keep children out of orphanages and home with family. Child Sponsorship supports the entire family and is the first step to bringing hope and health to these needy children.

Mercy Projects coordinator, Iryna Sokolovska, says, “I saw many families with many problems, but I think I’ve never seen anything that bad and depressing like life in this family. I think only God can help this family…”

Please, pray for all these people – for health of the Grandma, for work for Olexandr, for finances for all children.
